A tribune by Chiedza Pasipanodya.
Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, Chiedza Pasipanodya is based in Toronto, Canada. As a practicing artist, curator, and writer, and with a decade of work in community building, Chiedza is committed to creating spaces for those on the peripheries and engaging with themes of liberation, legacy, unearthing, and the in-between. She holds a BFA with honors, in Criticism and Curatorial Practices from OCAD University. Her thesis research is titled New Perspectives on Black Women Artists in Canada Participating in the Arts for The Long Term. Chiedza is currently a member of the Public Programming and Learning team for the inaugural Toronto Biennial of Art opening September 21, 2019.
